There's no warping, or pitting, or other problems commonly associated with sand blasting or chemical stripping. We can also economically remove, without damage to the item, many coatings of paint, residues, and contaminants (plastic media blasting WILL NOT remove rust), but we use a different type of media, called aluminum oxide that can remove rust. These abrasives are propelled with high/low air pressure (conventional blasting). We also do Industrial blasting and refininshing. Media Blasting can remove many types of coatings from many types of surfaces.
Our blasting room is 20' x 30' with 12' ceiling. Media blasting is much more efficient, cost effective, and an environmentally friendly way to prepare any fiberglass or metal surface. In most cases bare metal underlying paint or coating removed by media blasting will not be vulnerable to rust, even if gotten wet. This is because, unlike sandblasting or chemical stripping, the beads do not penetrate factory protective coatings.
The first question usually asked is How Much Does it Cost? I take many things into consideration before pricing, the size of the project, is it metal, aluminum, fiberglass, or a composite, assembled or disassembled and how many layers of material build up are on the surface. Although Media Blasting is the most cost effective way to begin the process.
We can also coat your project with a coat of self etching primer, epoxy primer/sealer or a primer of your choice.
We will do industrial priming and painting but do not do automotive top coating. We are also a POR-15 authorized dealer. POR-15 is a company that provides restorations products.
